These pictures belong to the wedding of a friend of mine in my hometown in the north of Italy. Summer is the wedding season and having friends in all parts of Europe, allow me to see totally different traditions, dances and environments.
The color palette of the decorations was an elegant baby blue: flowers, bouquet and bridesmaids' dresses were this colour. The bride had a wonderful sleeveless white long dress with embroidery and lace at the back, so elegant, chic and proper for the church! Maybe I am old school, but I really appreciate when you don't show too much skin if your marriage is a religious one.
We met up with the girls one day before to make the bows for the cars, laughing and... drinking and without even realizing it, after few hours it was already the wedding day. The church was the Basilica Santuario dei Santi Vittore e Corona (1100 A.D.). It is placed in one really panoramic point of the Mount Miesna, from where you can admire the medioeval city of Feltre being surrounded by nature. But its beauty is not only in the external part, infact it is built in Romanic style with a lot of Oriental and Armenian characteristics, it is an unusual church for the Italian standards, that's why it belongs to the category of the National Italian Monuments.
The moment when they saw wood together symbolizes the first achieved action of the couple, it's a wish to face the life-troubles together.

Queste immagini appartengono al matrimonio di una mia amica della mia città natale nel nord Italia. L'estate è la stagione dei matrimoni e avere amici in tutte le parti d'Europa, mi permette di vedere tradizioni, danze e ambienti completamente diversi.
La palette delle decorazioni era un elegante color carta da zucchero: i fiori, il bouquet e gli abiti delle damigelle erano di questa tonalità. La sposa aveva un meraviglioso abito lungo bianco senza maniche con ricami e pizzo sul retro, così elegante, chic e adatto alla chiesa! Forse sono di vecchia scuola, ma apprezzo molto quando non ci si scopre troppo se il matrimonio è religioso.
Ci siamo incontrate con le ragazze un giorno prima per fare i fiocchi alle macchine, ridendo e... bevendo e senza nemmeno rendercene conto, dopo poche ore era già il giorno del matrimonio. La chiesa in cui è stata svolta la funzione è la Basilica Santuario dei Santi Vittore e Corona (1100 d.c.). Si trova in un punto veramente panoramico del Monte Miesna, da dove si può ammirare la città medievale di Feltre circondati dalla natura. Ma la sua bellezza non è solo nella parte esterna, infatti è costruita in stile romanico con molte influenze orientali e armene, è una chiesa insolita per gli standard italiani, è per questo che appartiene alla categoria dei monumenti nazionali italiani.
Il momento in cui segano insieme il tronco di legno simboleggia la prima azione compiuta della coppia, è il desiderio di affrontare insieme i problemi della vita.
