In this post I am in Padua. After the wedding in Florence I immediately catched a train and I came to join my family.
Actually it hasn't been an easy week, we came in Padua cause my father had a surgery to do, I didn't mention it before, cause I didn't know how it was going to end, and surely I wasn't ready to speak about it, but now that I know that everything is ok, I am soooooooo relieved, and full of joy!
In between the "allowed hours" that I could spend in the hospital, I walked through all Padua. And you know what?! I found out that it is amazing. I have been here a million times, but always in the main street that goes from the train station to the city centre. This time I explored everything, and I fell in love with the area of the "Riviere". And I was lucky enough to be hosted in that area. From the pictures you will see my view from the window <3: the river, the top of the dome and a melody of duck-chatting, all day long, soooo great.
In questo post sono a Padova. Dopo il matrimonio a Firenze, ho immediatamente preso un treno e mi sono unita alla mia famiglia.
In realtà non è stata una settimana facile, siamo venuti a Padova perché mio papà ha avuto un intervento chirurgico, non ne ho parlato prima, perché non sapevo come sarebbe andata a finire, e sicuramente non ero pronta a parlarne, ma ora che so che è tutto ok, sono sollevata e piena di gioia!
Tra un'ora di ricevimento pazienti e l'altra, ho attraversato tutta Padova. E sapete cosa?! Ho scoperto che è una città fantastica. Ci sono stata un milione di volte, ma sempre nella strada principale che va dalla stazione ferroviaria al centro della città. Questa volta ho esplorato tutto e mi sono innamorata dell'area delle Riviere. E ho avuto la fortuna di essere ospitata proprio in quella zona. Dalle immagini vedete la mia vista dalla finestra <3: il fiume, la cupola del duomo e una melodia di anatrine, davvero fantastico.
Αυτή τη φορά είμαι στην Πάδοβα. Μετά το γάμο στη Φλωρεντία, πήρα αμέσως ένα τρένο και πήγα να συναντήσω την οικογένειά μου.
Στην πραγματικότητα δεν ήταν μια εύκολη εβδομάδα, ήρθαμε στην Πάδοβα γιατί ο πατέρας μου έπρεπε να κάνει ένα χειρουργείο.. δεν το ειχα αναφέρει προηγουμένως, γιατί δεν ήξερα πώς θα τελειώσει και σίγουρα δεν ήμουν έτοιμη να μιλήσω γι 'αυτό, αλλά τώρα που ξέρω ότι όλα είναι εντάξει, είμαι ανακουφισμένη, και γεμάτη χαρά!
Μεταξύ των "επιτρεπόμενων ωρών" που θα μπορούσα να περάσω στο νοσοκομείο, περπάτησα μέσα από όλη την Πάντοβα. Και ξέρετε κάτι...?!είναι υπέροχη πόλη. Ήρθα εδώ χιλιάδες φορές, αλλά πάντα στον κεντρικό δρόμο που πηγαίνει από το σταθμό στο κέντρο της πόλης. Αυτή τη φορά έχω εξερευνήσει τα πάντα και ερωτεύτηκα την περιοχή της "Riviere". Και ήμουν αρκετά τυχερή για να φιλοξενηθω σε αυτή την περιοχή. Θα δείτε την θέα από το παράθυρο  μου <3: το ποτάμι, την κορυφή του τρούλου και ο ήχος απο τα παπάκια, τι ωραία!




From all the Riviere, surely my favourite part is where you can see the tower of "La Specola", originally it was the tower (Torlonga) of the castel: Castel vecchio and after 1767 it became the astronomical observatory of Padua. How magical can be and observatory in such an ancient building?! To sprinkle even more magic, I tell you that it is surrounded by water, and to get into it, you cross an adorable bridge. Speaking about astronomy, Galileo was a lecturer in the Padua University! This is a place full of history... and can you believe that Padua University was founded in 1222?! Crazy!
Di tutte le Riviere, sicuramente la mia parte preferita è dove si può vedere la torre de "La Specola", originariamente era la torre (Torlonga) del castello: Castel Vecchio e dopo il 1767 divenne l'osservatorio astronomico di Padova. Che magico può essere e l'osservatorio in un edificio così antico?! Per cospargere ancora più magia, vi dico che è circondato dall'acqua, e per entrarci, bisogna attraversare un adorabile ponticciolo. Parlando di astronomia, Galileo è stato docente all'Università di Padova! Questo è un luogo pieno di storia... e potete crederci che l'Università di Padova fu fondata nel 1222?! Incredibile!



In many of Padua stores I think that the time stopped, you can find barber shops with products from the seventies, or toy shops with ancient dolls and soldiers, even the Caffè are from another epoch, speaking of which, the Caffè Pedrocchi is surely the best one! It is from the 18th century, and had been a place for names like Stendhal, or Lord Byron. The singularity of the cafè is that it is eclectic and all the rooms are decorated with different styles. Interesting fact: after 1861, unification of Italy, the tapestries of the three rooms assumed the colours white, red and green, in few words the Italian flag. If you go, don't miss their famous mint-coffee and the pistachio croissant!!!!!So yummy!
