Today I am gonna share with you the moment of the actual cerimony. I got soooooo emotional! If the pre-cerimony was the most calm moment after months, immediadety when I stepped out of the car, I felt all the meaning of what it was going to happen. I nearly cried when I was walking towards my husband-to-be and then during the vows I was crying and sobbing like a baby, and for what the guests told me, many of them were crying with me. Now I remember it like a really special memory, but in that moment I could barly speak, it was hard.

Another detail that I loved about the cerimony was that the two pieces of the bible had been read by my sister in Italian and by Tilemachos' sister in Greek, so special! Actually I was lucky enough to have a priest that spoke both our languages, so the Mass had been celebrated in a way that everyone could understand. Greek people had been really impressed, cause all of them were Orthodox and the wedding had been celebrated by the catholic rite in Patra (Greece).

FUN FACTS

-The dress was totally DIY. I have sewed it on my own and it took me 3months of work and more or less 1500 flowers to attach. The even crazier part is that the fabric that I chose is the net that they use to gather the olives... in few words my wedding dress costed 14euros.

-Tilemachos' cousin uses to pour on the couple many kilos of rice at once... it is a tradition! I warned him that he had to get an esthetically pleasing bag in order not to ruin the pictures, and when I saw that he did it I hugged him.

Oggi voglio condividere con voi il momento della cerimonia. Mi sono mooolto emozionata! Se il momento pre-cerimonia è stato il più calmo dopo mesi, immediatamente appena scesa dall'auto, ho percepito in tutto e per tutto il significato di quello che sarebbe successo. Stavo già quasi piangendo mentre camminavo verso il mio futuro marito e poi durante lo scambio dei voti ho pianto e singhiozzato come una bambina, e per quello che gli ospiti mi hanno detto, molti di loro piangevano con me. Ora lo ricordo come un momento davvero speciale, ma lì per lì riuscivo a malapena a parlare, è stato difficile.

Un altro dettaglio che ho apprezzato della cerimonia è stata la lettura dei due passi scelti della Bibbia da parte di mia sorella in italiano e della sorella di Tilemachos in greco. In realtà ho avuto la fortuna di avere un prete che parlava entrambe le nostre lingue, quindi la messa è stata celebrata in modo che tutti potessero capire. Gli invitati greci sono rimasti molto colpiti, perché tutti erano ortodossi e il matrimonio è stato celebrato con il rito cattolico a Patrasso.

FATTI DIVERTENTI

-Il vestito è stato cucito interamente da me e mi ci sono voluti 3 mesi di lavoro e più o meno 1500 fiori da attaccare. La curiosità ancora più interessante è stata il tessuto scelto: è la rete che usano per raccogliere le olive... in poche parole il mio abito da sposa è costato 14 euro.

- Il cugino Tilemachos ai matrimoni, riversa sulla coppia di sposi, chiunque essi siano, molti chili di riso... ormai è una tradizione! L'ho avvertito che doveva procurarsi una borsa esteticamente gradevole per non rovinare le foto, e quando ho visto che si era attenuto al patto l'ho abbracciato.
