Last week was a blast! Three days of Patra's Carnival and then, on Monday the Flour Fight of Galaxidi. If you wanna visit this part of Greece, this is the right period of the year. In Patra you find the biggest Carnival of all Greece, and exactly after it, for the first day of Lent: the Ortodox Clean Monday, at 90km ca. from Patra, since 1801 takes place the Flour Fight of Galaxidi  (Alevromoutzouromata in Greek). You can enter the fight, or watch it from the other side of the small port... even if I really invite you to fully live this event. The city offers free coloured flour, and you can find onesis and masks in few minimarkets, even if I strongly suggest to wear old clothes in any case, and bring a change in order not to stain the car.
I feel that you will get a taste of what we experienced watching the pics and the video. Tell me what you think of this particular Greek tradition.

La scorsa settimana è stata incredibile! Tre giorni di Carnevale a Patrasso e poi, lunedì la guerra della farina a Galaxidi. Se volete visitare quest'area della Grecia, sicuramente questo è il periodo migliore. A Patrasso c'è il più grande carnevale greco, ed esattamente a seguire, per il primo giorno di quaresima: l'ortodosso "lunedì puro" a 90km circa da Patrasso, è dal 1801 che si festeggia la guerra della farina di Galaxidi (in greco Alevromoutzouromata). Potete decidere di prendere parte attiva all'evento, o semplicemente guardarlo, dal lato opposto del piccolo porto... anche se vi consiglio di vivere a pieno quest'occasione. Il comune offre farina colorata gratuita, e potete trovare tute e maschere protettive in alcuni minimarket, anche se io comunque invito caldamente a mettere vestiti vecchi e portarsi un cambio, per non sporcare la macchina al ritorno.
Credo che potrete assaporare in parte ciò che abbiamo vissuto, guardando le foto ed il video. Ditemi che ne pensate di questa particolare tradizione Greca.
