The second place where you can find snow, really close to Patra, is Mount Panachaikos (one hour drive). It is my third time here, if you wanna check the previous posts click here and here.
I am super happy, because, with the new pick-up, we could actually almost reach the highest point, where there was a lot of snow. It was damn cold and super windy, so the outfit was WARM, that's it! The only element to spice it up a bit was the pop of red.
There is a tradition here in Greece: when you find snow, you make a snowmen on the car wind-shield. I think they do it, because it is rare to find it. And I put my best efforts to make one... that barely make it home, due to the higher temperature that we had in Patra, kind of 18degrees. But before melting it was kinda cute, I made him arms and eyes as well.

What a better post to close the year?! Snow snow and again snow. It is kind of strange for many of you, I am sure, but in Greece they actually have places where it snows! Kalavrita is one of the closest place to Patra like these ones. I definitely recommend you to go, it is soooooo charming! You can reach it by car, and in this case I suggest you to stop along the way at the monastery of Mega Spileo and the village of Zachlorou, I made an entire post HERE. Or you can go by a "rack-train" from the station of Diakopto, in this case it will be harder to stop, but you will see incredible naturalistic scenaries. Kalavrita is a small cute village with a lot of history! Above all it is connected to the second World War, cause here, almost everyone was slaughtered, but I will make a specific post about it another time. Because I had seen the village of Kalavrita so many times, we decided to go to the ski spot, higher in the mountains. And guess what?! There was snow, YASS! The ski facilities where closed, cause there wasn't enough to ski, but we had an hot chocolate in the giant chalet, and we had a great time in the snow. You can also get a chair lift to a second chalet a little bit higher, but it costs 10 euros per person, so we didn't do it.
I had all my snow-clothes at home in Italy, so I just layered with chunky socks, warm beanie, big scarf, heavy jacket and gloves.
Soon I will post another article about where we went next, so you know what you can visit and where you can eat.
Quale post migliore per chiudere l'annata?! Neve, neve e ancora neve.
